Barrhaven neighbourhoods

Barrhaven is a suburb of Ottawa that was part of the City of Nepean until amalgamation in 2001. Modern Barrhaven was established in the 1960s, and Wikipedia says building was begun by Mel Barr, for whom the community is named. Expansion was approved by the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton in 1977, and the provincial cabinet overruled an Ontario Municipal Board limit in 1979, which led to the area's growth. Wikipedia notes that many neighbourhood names were generally selected by developers. This guide covers four Ottawa Neighbourhood Study areas: Old Barrhaven East, Old Barrhaven West, Chapman Mills, and Stonebridge – Half Moon Bay.

The Barrhaven area has 4 neighbourhoods: Old Barrhaven East, Old Barrhaven West, Chapman Mills and Stonebridge – Half Moon Bay.
